Travel Information: Most projects are scheduled Sunday through Saturday, with volunteers arriving on Sunday afternoon, working M-F, and departing on Saturday morning. We can work with you to accommodate your schedule and trail maintenance needs. If the crew is backpacking into base camp, please consider this when choosing your arrival and departure dates.

The Vacation: Since crew members are spending their vacation time volunteering, we want to make sure they have some free time and get the chance to explore the local area. For week-long projects, we strongly recommend that you provide a half-day or full day-off from trail work. This may not apply to weekend projects. Volunteers also greatly appreciate opportunities for behind-the-scenes tours, guided nature walks and/or hikes, visitor centers, or similar experiences provided by the hosts.

Additional comments or information regarding your projects?

We like to offer several shorter, extended-weekend Volunteer Vacations. For these projects, the crew will arrive on Thursday evening, work Friday - Sunday morning and depart Sunday afternoon. All other Volunteer Vacations requirements and details will be the same. If you are interested in this option, please note below. Checking this box does not guarantee that you will host a shorter trip, we will contact those who are a good fit as part of the application confirmation process.
